Situation

Singapore based Band is the leading B2B agency in Asia providing end-to-end marketing solutions, specialising in the Technology and Finance sectors. It has 50 employees in Singapore and Greater China servicing blue chip multinational clients across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. Band is unique in offering demand generation, channel marketing, sales enablement, digital and creative services. The firm was set up by Ian Bickerton in Singapore in 2002, he was joined shortly afterwards by Kieran Vye and James Craik, with John Irwin opening Band’s Greater China operation in 2005.

Opportunity

The founders decided that the timing was right to seek a strategic partner to leverage their unique and scalable business model to accelerate growth and financial performance through expansion to other markets and business verticals. We were appointed to review the company’s strategic options.

Outcome

We commenced the engagement with a commercial review and made several strategic recommendations which were integrated over a couple of years. When the time was deemed right, the team leveraged its knowledge and network to ensure the Company was engaging with the most relevant potential strategic partners. Following well targeted introductions, Band received significant interest from a number of strategic partners looking to build and enhance their B2B capabilities. Following many review meetings, discussions and competitive offers, the founders decided to proceed with the Dentsu Aegis Group, due to the strength in its Enterprise network and vision for the future of B2B communications.
